This presentation will include legislation currently being considered in various states as well as past legislation that has been considered but not passed. The speaker will also discuss efforts IAPMO has made to encourage inclusion of various standards that help combat the growth and spread of the bacteria.

Jim Scarborough is Director of Government Relations for the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), a position he has held since March 2019, where he focuses on state and local government issues. Jim has over 40 years of government relations experience and came to IAPMO from ASHRAE where he was Senior Manager of State and Local Government Affairs. Jim got his start in government relations on the staff of North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt in 1981. A native of Maryland, Jim has undergraduate and graduate degrees from schools in North Carolina.
