Point-of-use (POU) water filtration is an effective intervention during a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak or case investigation. Easy to install and use, they provide an immediate barrier to Legionella. However the decision to use POU water filters, what brand to purchase, and where to install can be a challenge, especially in healthcare facilities. Under the duress of a case investigation, these decisions can be difficult. We’ll walk you through developing a POU filtration preparedness plan, review considerations for selection, and how to install and deploy microbiological water filtration so you can make confident decisions!
