This approach traditionally focuses on activities which impact ventilation, dust generation, and construction methods with little emphasis on water systems and waterborne pathogens. Developing a Water Infection Control Risk Assessment (WICRA) can help secure patient safety and the facility’s reputation from the consequences of waterborne disease associated with water system construction, renovation, or maintenance activity.
